Marcal Small Steps

For those not quite ready to take the full leap into green living, Marcal has made Small Steps, a line of paper products designed to get you started. In this line of Marcal Small Steps there are paper towels, toilet paper, everyday napkins, dinner napkins, and tissues. Their goal is to save one million trees. As of today, the ticker on their website is at 21,546,004 and climbing. Each product is made with 100% recycled paper, is whitened without chlorine bleaching, is hypoallergenic, nearly free of lint, and contains no added dyes or fragrances. The quality of Marcal's Small Steps line surpasses most other brands of paper products that do not have all of these environmentally friendly features. The Everyday Napkins have this handy drawstring attached to the top so you can open and re-close the packaging. Everything is made from recycled paper, not trees.

Fall TV Lineup 2009

It's almost September and you know what that means...well, for prime time TV show enthusiasts you do: new seasons of our favorite shows and new ones to check out! I list these from my favorite to my least favorite.

Fringe
Season 2
Season Premiere Thursday, September 17th at 9:00pm-8:00pm ET/C
In the season finale Olivia discovered that Dr. William Bell lives in an alternate universe that the government needs rebuilt. And Walter visited his son's grave, Peter Bishop, who is supposed to be still alive...right? You never know what is going on with Fringe, and that is what I love about it. If you haven't seen it yet you must check it out! Fringe is brilliant. Check out the season 2 promo here.

House
Season 6
Season Premiere Monday September 21st (time?)
House is one of the best shows on TV. Great actors, superb storyline and witty humor. I love it all. 13 and Cuddy heat up the screen, too. For those who don't know 13 is played by Olivia Wilde, Maxim's number 1 hottie. We left off with House hallucinating and being dropped off at Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital. House never bores me!

NCIS
Season 6
Season Premiere September 22nd at 8:00pm ET/PT
This show is so entertaining. The actors bring these well-written characters to life and we hold onto them. Gibbs, Abbs, Ziva, Denozo, McGeek, Ducky, and the gang are coming back! Yay! We left off with the team leaving Israel without Ziva who was being tortured.

Supernatural
Season
Season Premiere Thursday, September 10th at 9:00pm-8:00pm ET/C
Supernatural is a truly awesome show. I've watched it from the beginning and can't get enough of it. Demon hunters and brother, Sam and Dean Winchester live on the road catching all sorts of supernatural creatures. Sam has psychic powers that he can't control. We left with Sam and Dean planning to kill Ruby (the demon who has been helping them...or hurting them?). They wanted to deal with Lilith on their own. However, Lucifer was rising no matter what happened. Will Dean and Sam stop fighting and call a truce to save the world? I can't wait to see this! Plus, it premieres on my birthday. How cool is that?

Bones
Season 5
Season Premiere Thursday September, 17th at 8:00pm-9:00pm ET/PT
The last show of the season left us with Booth waking up from his brain tumor surgery with a spotty memory. See a promo for Season 5 of Bones here.

Southland
Season 2
Season Premiere (can't find it. Anyone know when the season premiere of Southland is?)
Southland was a hit from the first five minutes. It's a cop show full of action. The cinematography creates a reality cop show feel, but it's all fiction. We were left with Detective Adams saving a girl from gangbangers, Detective Clark getting shot, and Officer Cooper loving family life. Here's a preview.

Heroes
Season 4
Season Premiere Monday, September 21st (time?)
They left us with Sylar and Senator Petrelli becoming one person, and someone drowning people. Heroes started off awesome. I never missed an episode. It's action packed, mysterious and fun. However, towards the end of the last season it got a little boring for me. I hope they bring back that action this year!

Criminal Minds
Season 5
Season Premiere Thursday September, 23rd at 9:00pm-10:00pm ET/PT
The last show left us wondering if Hotch is still alive. We saw him walk into his home to find the serial kiler there and then a gunshot was fired.

Ghost Whisperer
Season 5
Season Premiere Friday, September 25th (time?)
Ghost Whisperer is getting kind of old for me, but I'll give it a shot. It seems redundant now, but if the writers can freshen up the plot it will be good. We'll see. Last season left us with Melinda and Jim (technically, Sam) remarrying. What the hell is going on anyway? So confusing.

New TV Shows:

NCIS: Los Angeles
Season Premiere Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:00-8:00 ET/C
This is exiting for fans of the original NCIS! A new spin off for Los Angeles. This NCIS will be focused on the "high-tech office of special projects", as TV Guide puts it. I definitely don't want to miss this one!

FlashForward

Series Premiere Thursday, September 27th at 8:00-7:00 ET/C
Now, this is one I am looking forward to. Action, suspense, mystery...what's not to like? Millions of people have a flash of the future in a strange event. I wonder what happens!

Shark Tank
Series Premiere Tuesday, September 29th at 8:00-7:00 ET/C
This reality show looks great. Aspiring inventors pitch their greatest ideas to business front runners. This will surely be entertaining and maybe even inspiring.

The Cleveland Show
Season Premiere September 27th 8:30/7:30 ET/C
This is a spin-off of The Family Guy, which I love. Cleveland is a character on The Family Guy and is now going to have his own show. I'm sure it will be entertaining and funny. Here's a preview.

The Forgotten
Season Premiere Tuesday, September 22nd at 10:00-9:00 ET/C
Hmm...this one feels familiar, but I am willing to try it out. A former cop (whose daughter went missing) and group of in experienced detectives start trying to solve murder cases in which the victim is unknown.

GUT: How to Think from Your Middle to Get to the Top by Karen Salmansohn

The book GUT is about making the best choices for your career or business, and learning to use your intuition. Karen Salmansohn (the best-selling author of How to Be Happy, Dammit), helps readers tap into those gut feelings with helpful and entertaining exercises and assignments. Her sass and humor is refreshing. The illustrations are amusing, and her writing is concise and effective. GUT doesn't just tell you how to use your instincts, the assignments show you. It even has some success stories with little known facts about businesses. This book has helped me in my freelance writing business and I recommend it.

Mary Kay Concealer

Concealer is my number one makeup product. I have large, dark circles under my eyes all the time. I was using Neutrogena 3-in-1 concealer to hide my bags, but the texture was much too greasy. With the hot summer days among us it was just sweating off. That's no good. So, I decided to try Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory 1. I applied it to my face in dots along the dark circles under my eyes, in the crease in my chin, and under my nose. I blotted it in with my fingertips and then gently blended it in. It covers very well and is not greasy at all. It stays put all day, which is something I require of my makeup! I highly recommend Mary Kay Concealer.
